Israeli Health Ministry official on Sunday gave permission doctors from five different Israeli hospitals to prescribe marijuana for patients suffering from cancer and chronic pain. The Ministry launched a pilot program intended to increase the number of doctors allowed to prescribe cannabis for medicinal purposes.
According to a ministry official that doctors will be able to prescribe medical marijuana to patients in the future. The Ministry estimates that by 2010 there will be increased from 66 percent in the license for medical marijuana, so that approximately 5000 patients will get prescription marijuana for his illness.
