Malaysia's First Gay Movie

The first gay romance movie in Malaysia was opened with a pair of adult men with bare chests on the beach massaging each other. The film "Dalam Botol" tells the story of a man who operated on sex because he thinks it could satisfy his male partner, but eventually he regretted it. The film was getting praise from the bloggers who were invited to witness on Wednesday, the film is planned to be aired widely next three months.

Malaysia's censorship agency has always made strict rules about the movie that contains a provocative sex. At the end of last year, censors banned British comedy films Sacha Baron Cohen's "Bruno," because the film is promoting homosexuality.

But the public asked the censors to better tolerate a more adult theme. Now the censors said the movie depiction of homosexuality as "Dalam Botol" is no longer forbidden, as long as gay is not condoned.

However, there is a scene that captures the reality that being a gay in a country which asserts that homosexuality is prohibited. Although demand is rare, for those who perform sodomy will be subject to imprisonment for 20 years.

Raja Azmi Raja Sulaiman, writer and movie producer, said that this movie tells of close friends who change gender 25 years ago in Thailand, he wanted to remind the others to not make the same mistake.
