Angelina Jolie Visits Pakistan Flood Victims


Angelina Jolie paid a visit to Pakistan today. This 35-year-old actress will review the flood victims in that country.

United Nations (UN) declared the presence of this Hollywood star in her capacity as an ambassador for the UN refugee agency (UNHCR).

As reported by Straits Times, Jolie landed in the capital Islamabad, on Tuesday (07/09/2010). Jolie's arrival is expected to open the eyes of the world about the suffering of the victims of the disaster that has been underway since July.

International humanitarian agencies to use their celebrity as a media campaign to draw attention to a fundraiser. Brad Pitt's spouse was previously accounted for USD 100 thousand for the flood victims of Pakistan.

Donations given by Jolie in mid-August when she was in Paris, France, to promote the film Salt.

Floods in Pakistan has killed 1,600 people. In addition, two million were forced to flee their homes. This amount is part of the 14 million people or 8 per cent of total citizens of Pakistan who are directly affected by flooding.
